JUNE
Nature Explorers (d)
Explore the Crosby Arboretum using your senses as you go on a “Wild Scavenger Hunt”. Learn more about plant and animal habitats as you play games such as “Web of Life”. Then create a sun print using natural objects as a memento of your visit. Troops may picnic on the grounds before or after program times.

Going On a Bug Hunt (b)
Beetles, and grasshoppers, and dragonflies, oh my! Grab a net and practice catching and identifying various types of insects. Arboretum staff will then assist you in mounting insects as a start for your very own “bug” collection. Troops may picnic before or after program times on the grounds as part of their visit.

Preserving Our Future (j)
Tour the Arboretum’s Herbarium and discover the history, identification, and preservation of regional plants. As a “junior naturalist” you will also have the opportunity to map and record your observations.

Tree Treasures (c)
Trees are a natural treasure, especially at the Arboretum. Create a human “Tree Factory” to identify the various parts and functions of a tree, as well as practice survival skills in “Every Tree for Itself.” Then hike along the pond trail and identify various trees using a “tree treasure map” filled with tree identification clues.

Savannah, GA- Birthplace Bound! (c/s/a)
Join us for a special tour of Savannah, Georgia, the home of Girl Scouting and our founder Juliette Low. You’ll fly round-trip from Jackson to Savannah. Visit the Birthplace – childhood home of Juliette Low – and participate in a special program just for Girl Scouts. Tour beautiful Savannah, participate in a historic scavenger hunt, go on a carriage ride and a ghost tour, and try out some of Savannah’s famous seafood. Then you’ll visit Tybee Island lighthouse and go on a boat tour to see dolphins and other aquatic animals. You’ll get to soak up sun and splash in the surf at Tybee Island Beach – all while making new friends and having loads of fun! All hotel accommodations, meals, admissions, travel, tours, patches and t-shirt are included.

Trail Ridin’ at Camp Session I & II (j/c/s/a)
Trail rides will begin with basic instructions and practice. The length of the trail ride will depend on the skill of the riders and how well they do during their basic instruction. The allowed time will include being fitted for helmets, assigning and saddling horses and basic instructions.

Brownie Survivor (d/b)
Welcome to Forbidden Island! Join us for a Survivor-themed game day, but no one is voted off at this friendly and fun team competition. You’ll use your brains and your imaginations, do some “yucky” stuff that you’ll love and make lots of noise. Some of the adventures you’ll encounter are a treasure hunt, worm eating contest (candy worms), a pirate invasion and a Hercules Challenge.

Amazing Summer Adventure (c/s/a)
This awesome event will take place at ADVENTURES UNLIMITED in Milton, FL. The girls who dare to join this adventure will spend the three days kayaking down Coldwater River and orienteering on Adventures Unlimited’s orienteering course. They will fly through the air over seven different ziplines.The girls will end their adventure with 4 miles of tubing down the river.The girls will stay in the Old Bunkhouse and enjoy the night full of campfires, star-gazing, and even a scavenger hunt. This is a just for girls trip.

Sweet Olive Boat Ride (d/b/j/c/s/a)
Join us as the "Sweet Olive" tour boat takes you on an hour and a half guided tour of the Mississippi River. Find out how the area was settled, Vicksburg's Civil War history, and fun-filled facts about the Mississippi and Yazoo rivers. The “Sweet Olive” is a Coast Guard-approved vessel with plenty of life jackets. The boat is enclosed with large panoramic windows that open. There is a bathroom onboard and soft drinks are available for purchase!

Take the ultimate outdoor challenge at Camp Wahi’s first Amazing Outdoor Challenge. Demonstrate your skill and cunning as you try to outwit and outlast other teams in the ultimate outdoor game! You’ll be assigned a team color and create your own team name and cheer. Then battle head to head with other teams in your age group. Be prepared to run and jump and paddle and climb! You’ll get wet and dirty; you’ll play hard and laugh lots!

Fitness Fun (b/j)
Bend and stretch, then reach for the stars! You will have more energy, sleep better, and feel great by adding fun exercises to your week! Wear socks, sneakers and comfortable clothing and get ready to sweat! Trained staff from Planet Fitness will teach you all about keeping your body healthy through exercise during this Saturday morning program. Warm up, stretch, and discover new ways to make exercise fun while taking care of your growing body!

Explore the rockin’ world of geology at the Mississippi Petrified Forest! Take a walking tour on the shady paved trail among the ancient trees. Next, explore the Earth and Science Museum where you’ll view rocks, minerals, and fossils from around the world! You’ll also be able to mine for your very own gemstones at the Gem Mining Flume! Are you ready to get creative? Come with us to “Easely Amused” and paint your very own canvas! No previous art experience required. An instructor will guide you in creating your own masterpiece! You will learn how to paint on a canvas, and the canvas is yours to take home and keep.

Come explore the night sky! We’ll begin our adventure at the Russell C. Davis Planetarium in Jackson and then travel to Camp Wahi to spend the night and enjoy an evening full of night activities and stargazing!
