The great outdoors is calling! Join us for this naturethemed,
team-building scavenger hunt in the
great outdoors. We’ll match you up with a team of
6-10 girls. Each team will receive a clue collection
bag containing instructions and supplies. Then
you’ll embark on a scavenger hunt in the wide
open spaces. You’ll need creativity, teamwork and
comfortable walking shoes as you work together to
complete challenges and win points for your team.
At the conclusion of the hunt, teams will present
their findings and collect awards.

Anniversary Event

Celebrate 100 years of Girl Scouting with a day
jam-packed full of fun and excitement! The
event will include a live on-stage presentation
of Girl Scouting through the decades as well as
performances by special entertainers. Before
and after the performances, explore the 100’s of
booths and displays with hands-on fun at every
station. We’ll have a little bit of everything that
makes your Girl Scout experience special and a
whole lot fun that will make this event one for your
scrapbooks! Bring your camera and your SWAPS.
You don’t want to miss this! The day will be filled
with fun and games representing 100 years of Girl
Scout History! Vendors will be on hand to provide
lunch and snacks for an additional fee. Troops,
individuals and service units are invited to host
hands-on booths or activities and to participate in
the stage production. Help us make this the best

Girlz Rule! Campout (b/j)

Grab your overnight bag and a sense of adventure as we set off on an action-packed weekend full of fun and friendship. This campout is planned especially for girls participating in the Girl Scouting in the School Day program. You’ll travel by bus with girls and adults from your school to Camp Iti-Kana where fun awaits. We’ll sing songs around a campfire, make s’mores, play games and make crafts while we have lots of fun with girls your age. You’ll make new friends and memories to last a lifetime.
Who:  In-school Girl Scouts – Grades 2-5
When:  May 18-19, 2012
How:  Ask your school GS Leader for special instructions
Transportation:  Buses provided to and from school or nearby site
Time:  leave after school / return by 6:00 p.m. on Saturday

Join us for a special celebration reception! We will honor the outstanding young women in each region who have earned very special awards . Awards will be presented to girls who have earned the Bronze and Silver Awards this year. Local Gold Award recipients will also be recognized. (Gold Award recipients will receive their awards at a special luncheon on April 21, 2012) We will also be honoring girls who achieved the top awards in Product Sales and other special guests.

Savannah, GA – Birthplace Bound! (c,s,a)

Join us for a special tour of Savannah, Georgia – the home of Girl Scouting and our founder, Juliette Low.  You’ll fly round-trip from Jackson to Savannah.  You’ll visit the  Birthplace – childhood home of Juliette Low and participate in a special program just for Girl Scouts, tour beautiful Savannah, participate in an historic scavenger hunt, go on a carriage ride, a ghost tour   and try out some of Savannah’s famous seafood. Then you’ll visit Tybee Island light house and go on a boat tour to see dolphins and other aquatic animals. You’ll get to soak up sun and splash in the surf at Tybee Island Beach – all while making new friends and having loads of fun! All hotel accommodations, meals, admissions, travel, tours, patches and t-shirts included.

Where:  Savannah, GA / roundtrip flight Jackson - Savannah
Cost:  $1100 per girl
Registration & Payment Schedule:   Registration and $100 deposit due Oct. 15, 2011. Then payments of $200 each due Nov.15; Jan. 15; Feb. 15; March 15; and April 15.  Girls may sell nuts / cookies to help offset the cost of their trip.
Bring:  You must wear a Girl Scout uniform to the Birthplace

Girl Scout Sing-Along – Washington, D.C.

A Girl Scout Sing-Along on the mall in Washington, D.C. is a Girl Scout Anniversary tradition. This event is generally attended by thousands of your fellow Girl Scouts. We certainly want Girl Scouts of Greater Mississippi to be represented!  A plan is in the works to send a bus full of girls from our council to the sing-along, scheduled for June 9, 2012. More information will be published in e-news as soon as it becomes available.
